What is Rummble?

Rummble® is like a travel guide that all your friends write for you. It works anywhere, whether at home or on the move on your mobile. It is free to use.

Rummble is a patent pending location based social network and content discovery tool, with comprehensive online and mobile platform; we help users find recommended content for a location more easily.

Rummble also includes best of breed social networking functionality, including news feeds, six degrees of seperation, messaging, SMS, geo-blogging, geo-tagging, drag and drop gallery, plus links to popular services such as Flickr, YouTube, Twitter and Facebook. The Rummble Facebook app is here.

About us

Rummble is built by a team of five out of Cambridge, England. All passionate about social media and particularly location based mobile services, the team has combined energy and experience to create comprehensive mobile and online platform.

Rummble works globally and has been in closed Beta since September 2007. In early 2008 the service will enter open Beta with fully open signup.

Background

Until the launch of the public "Rummble" brand in September 2007, Rummble's software platform was developed under the brand playtxt®  

playtxt.net was a pioneering mobile social network, operated as a technology demonstrator and pilot site which formed some of the engine behind Rummble. playtxt included location based SMS, a full web service, WAP service and latterly a Java J2ME application.
